Global Sumud flotilla: Israeli forces intercept ships, detain campaigners
Israeli forces have intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla and arrested activists on board, including Greta Thunberg, as the boats attempted to sail towards the Gaza Strip.
Despite the raid, around two dozen aid vessels continue their journey to besieged Gaza, with at least one already reported to have entered its territorial waters.
To ensure transparency and safety, the Sumud Flotilla has been streaming live video as the ships draw closer to Gaza.
Israel has vowed to block the flotilla, insisting that the volunteers are attempting to “breach a lawful naval blockade.” However, international law affirms the right to deliver humanitarian aid.
