36 years on, victims of Srinagar’s Hawal massacre still await justice

The 36th anniversary of the Hawal massacre passes with victims of Indian barbarism still awaiting justice in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, on May 21, 1990, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq’s martyrdom shook the territory, triggering an outpouring of grief as thousands of people gathered in Srinagar’s Hawal area for his funeral.

The mournful occasion turned into a nightmare as the Indian troops unleashed indiscriminate gunfire on the procession, leaving 72 Kashmiris martyred and over 200 injured.
