30 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces at US-supported Gaza aid site
Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians gathered at an aid distribution site operated by a US backed organization in southern Gaza, killing at least 30 people and injuring 120 others.
Meanwhile, Hamas has requested modifications to a US proposed ceasefire agreement. However, the US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, has deemed the group’s response “unacceptable.”
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s military campaign has resulted in the deaths of at least 54,381 Palestinians and has left 124,054 injured. The Gaza Government Media Office has updated the total death toll to over 61,700, noting that thousands remain missing under the rubble and are presumed dead.
On the Israeli side, approximately 1,139 people were killed and more than 200 taken captive during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023.
