Thousands Flee Homes Across Lebanon Amid Israeli Attacks

The Israeli military has issued displacement orders, forcing large numbers of civilians to leave their homes, with hundreds of thousands now on the move this morning.

The movement is not limited to southern Lebanon it is also happening in the capital, Beirut.

In particular, the city’s Dahiyeh suburbs, where the evacuation warning was issued, are home to hundreds of thousands of residents. Many people are hurriedly gathering what belongings they can and heading toward areas they believe may be safer.

Dahiyeh is widely regarded as a stronghold of Hezbollah and has been repeatedly targeted during the war in 2024 and in several incidents since then. A ceasefire was announced in November of that year, but it has largely been described as one-sided, with Israel continuing strikes while accusing Hezbollah of rebuilding its capabilities and criticizing the Lebanese government for failing to disarm the group.

The situation on the ground is chaotic. At the same time, it is the month of Ramadan  when people normally prepare their pre-dawn meal before fasting but instead many families are searching urgently for shelter.
