Israel’s Security Cabinet Approves Gaza City Occupation Plan Amid Ongoing Famine
Israel’s security cabinet has approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal for the military occupation of Gaza City. The plan reportedly entails the forced displacement of all Palestinian civilians from the northern city to camps in central Gaza.
The announcement comes shortly after Netanyahu declared that Israel intends to "take control of all of Gaza." This development raises serious concerns over the prospect of mass forced displacement, as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens.
At least four more people, including two children, have died from starvation and malnutrition, pushing the death toll from what many describe as a man-made famine to 197.
Israel’s war on Gaza has so far claimed the lives of at least 61,258 people and left 152,045 wounded. In contrast, the October 7, 2023, attacks in Israel resulted in 1,139 deaths and over 200 people taken captive.
