At least 35 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since early Wednesday, according to medical sources. The bombardment has intensified in recent hours, with reports of further devastating attacks.

The United Nations estimates that around 500,000 people in Gaza have been “newly displaced or uprooted once more” since Israel ended the ceasefire with Hamas on March 18.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant reaffirmed the government’s stance, stating that blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza remains a strategic tool to pressure Hamas.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, 51,025 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 116,432 injured since the war began 18 months ago. The Gaza Government Media Office places the death toll even higher at over 61,700 citing thousands still buried under rubble and presumed dead.

Meanwhile, the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel killed 1,139 people, with more than 200 taken captive.
