Death toll rises in Gaza as Hamas accuses Israel of delaying ceasefire efforts

At least 95 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, according to hospital sources. Among the dead were over a dozen civilians who had gathered at US-Israel-backed aid distribution points in desperate search of food.

The deadliest attack of the day occurred when Israeli fighter jets struck an internet café where a children’s birthday party was taking place, killing at least 39 people.

A senior Hamas official Stated, “We are committed to securing a ceasefire to protect our people,” while accusing Israel of “deliberately undermining the negotiations.”

Since the beginning of the conflict, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 56,531 people and injuries to 133,642, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Meanwhile, Israel reported 1,139 deaths and over 200 captives taken during the October 7 attacks.
