Israeli forces kill 19 in Gaza as UN condemns Israeli ‘rationing’ strategy
Israeli forces killed at least 19 people in early morning strikes, according to Gaza’s Civil Defence, following the deaths of 24 Palestinians across Gaza on Sunday.
The United Nations and several humanitarian organizations criticized a “dangerous” Israeli plan to distribute limited food “rations” within militarized zones. The proposal comes amid a complete blockade on food deliveries to Gaza for the past nine weeks.
Meanwhile, the Houthis announced they would continue targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport in retaliation for what they called Israel’s escalating “aggression” in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel would respond to both the Houthis and Iran.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s ongoing military campaign has killed at least 52,535 Palestinians and injured 118,491 others. The Government Media Office later updated the death toll to over 61,700, noting that thousands of people missing beneath the rubble are presumed dead.
