Zelenskyy accuses North Korea of sending troops to support Russia in the war.
Ukraine’s president stated that his country and its allies must adapt their response in view of Russia’s strengthening alliances.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused North Korea of sending both weapons and soldiers to aid Russia in its war against Ukraine.
"We are witnessing a growing alliance between Russia and regimes like North Korea," Zelenskyy stated in his video address on Sunday night. "This is no longer limited to the transfer of weapons; it's about sending North Korean personnel to bolster the occupying forces."
He said that Ukraine and its allies must adapt their response as Russia strengthens its alliances, reiterating his appeal for increased military aid to prevent a larger conflict.
“The front line needs more support,” Zelenskyy said. “When we talk about providing Ukraine with greater long-range capabilities and more decisive supplies for our forces, it’s not just about listing military equipment. It’s about intensifying pressure on the aggressor—pressure that exceeds what Russia can withstand. And it’s about averting a larger war.”
Zelenskyy's calls for Ukraine's allies to permit the use of longer-range missiles to strike military targets deep inside Russia and reduce its war capacity have so far gone unanswered.
