Rahul Gandhi criticizes the BJP over ongoing attacks on minorities, particularly Muslims.

Rahul Gandhi criticized the Union government, accusing it of remaining passive while attacks on minorities, particularly Muslims, persist. He stated that “miscreants have been emboldened by the BJP government’s inaction, which is why they feel empowered to commit these acts.”

This criticism follows recent incidents in which two Muslim men were attacked in Haryana and Maharashtra under suspicion of beef consumption. In Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri district, Sabir Malik, 22, was fatally beaten on August 27. In Maharashtra’s Thane, an FIR was filed against a group of men for assaulting a 72-year-old man on a Mumbai-bound train, suspecting him of carrying beef. The man was actually transporting buffalo meat, which is not illegal, according to the police’s initial investigation.

Gandhi accused the authorities of fostering communal violence, stating, “Those who have ascended to power through hatred are perpetuating a climate of fear nationwide. Violent mobs are openly defying the rule of law and spreading discord,” he wrote in a post on X.

“Attacks on minorities, especially Muslims, are continuing and the govt machinery is watching as a mute spectator,” Rahul said.
