Israel launches attacks on Iran, multiple explosions heard in Tehran
Israel has carried out a missile strike against Iran, according to the Israeli Defense Minister. The Israeli military activated air raid sirens across the country “to prepare the public for the possibility of retaliatory missile launches toward Israel.”
Fars News Agency reported that several missiles hit University Street and the Jomhouri area in Tehran. Explosions were also heard in downtown Tehran, with some missile trails visible in the sky, according to news reporters on the ground.
Defence Minister Israel Katz stated, “The State of Israel launched a pre-emptive attack against Iran to eliminate threats to Israel.”
The Associated Press reported that the strikes in Iran’s capital occurred near offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
