The UN Security Council has passed a US-backed resolution defining the mandate for the Gaza International Stabilization Force proposed in Trump’s ceasefire plan.

A Hamas spokesperson told news correspondents that the group rejects any foreign military presence in Gaza, arguing that it would replace Israeli occupation with “foreign guardianship.” Meanwhile, Israeli drone fire has injured at least 13 Palestinians, including a child, inside a school shelter in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood

Gaza authorities report that displaced residents urgently require more than 300,000 tents as winter conditions worsen across the enclave.

Since October 2023, Israel’s assault on Gaza has killed at least 69,483 Palestinians and wounded 170,706. In Israel, 1,139 people were killed and around 200 taken captive during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023.
