Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that two more people have died from famine and malnutrition within the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of hunger related deaths since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza to 271, including 112 children.

Meanwhile, Israel has intensified its assault on Gaza City as it pushes forward with plans to seize the area, forcibly displace nearly one million residents, and carry out “systematic demolitions” of Palestinian homes.

Hamas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of ignoring international mediation efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire and pressing ahead with the military takeover of Gaza City.

Global leaders have denounced Israel’s approval of the controversial E1 settlement expansion, which would sever one of the last remaining territorial links between Ramallah and Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.

Since the war began, at least 62,192 Palestinians have been killed and 157,114 wounded in Gaza. By contrast, Israel recorded 1,139 deaths during the October 7, 2023 attacks, in which more than 200 people were also taken captive.
