Reports of shoot-to-kill orders on Gaza aid seekers spark global condemnation
US President Donald Trump has stated that a ceasefire in Gaza could be achieved “within the next week,” even as Israeli strikes continue. Over 60 people were killed across the territory on Friday alone.
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, recent Israeli media reports revealing that soldiers were instructed to “deliberately shoot” starving Palestinians trying to access aid are further proof of alleged war crimes in the region.
The head of UNRWA, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, condemned aid distribution sites operated by the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), calling them “a killing field.”
Since the conflict began, at least 56,331 people have been killed and 132,632 wounded in Gaza, according to the territory’s Health Ministry. In Israel, 1,139 people were killed and over 200 taken captive during the attacks on October 7.
