Israeli gunfire in Gaza leaves 5 dead, 100 wounded amid aid distribution
At least five Palestinians were killed and over 100 injured after Israeli forces opened fire on crowds seeking food aid in southern Gaza, in the latest of a series of deadly incidents.
According to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, two of its aid distribution points will reopen today after being closed yesterday, during which no food was delivered despite growing desperation. Since May 27, Israeli gunfire at aid sites has reportedly killed more than 100 people.
The ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza has so far resulted in the deaths of at least 54,772 Palestinians and injuries to 125,834 others, as reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry.
In contrast, the Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, left an estimated 1,139 people dead and more than 200 taken hostage.
