Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Israel has accepted US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal with Iran. This follows Trump’s declaration that the truce is now in effect and his call for both sides to respect the agreement.

The development came after Iran launched multiple missile strikes on Israel, killing at least four people in the southern city of Beersheba.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that no formal ceasefire had been reached with Israel, but Tehran would suspend its attacks if Israel ended its “illegal aggression” by 4:00 am local time (00:30 GMT).

On Monday evening, Iran also targeted a military base in Qatar housing US troops with a barrage of missiles. This was in retaliation for American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities the previous day.

Since Israel began its offensive on June 13, Iran reports that over 400 people have been killed, including 13 children, and more than 3,056 injured. Meanwhile, Iranian attacks have killed at least 24 people in Israel.
