Israeli attacks have killed at least 92 people across the Gaza Strip, as Palestinians continue to suffer under a severe hunger crisis and blockade. The deadliest strikes occurred in Gaza City and the north, where 64 people were killed, while another 16 were fatally shot near the Netzarim Corridor an area dividing north and south Gaza while waiting for humanitarian aid.

Starving Palestinians have been gathering daily in this corridor to collect food packages from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an initiative backed by the United States and Israel. The United Nations has strongly condemned the GHF, accusing it of “weaponising” humanitarian aid.

Eyewitness Bassam Abu Shaar, speaking to AFP, described the chaos during an overnight attack at one of the aid sites.
“Around 1am [22:00 GMT Wednesday], they started shooting at us. The gunfire intensifiedcoming from tanks, drones, and quadcopters,” he said.
“The crowd was so dense, we couldn’t escape or even help the wounded,” he added, describing the Israeli fire near Shuhada Junction.

In recent weeks, Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted Palestinians attempting to receive aid, turning these gatherings into lethal zones. Tariq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, called the targeting of aid seekers a “daily routine.”

“More than three months of total blockade on Gaza’s border crossings has reduced the enclave to a hunger-stricken region,” Azzoum said. “People now risk their lives just to receive bags of flour, bottles of water, and food packages that experts say offer minimal nutritional value. Humanitarian corridors have effectively become killing zones.”

The Israeli military, without presenting evidence, claimed that “suspects” had approached its forces in a threatening manner near Netzarim. It stated that warning shots were fired and that the military was unaware of any casualties.

Separately, an Israeli drone struck a makeshift tent in Al Shati Refugee Camp where residents were charging their devices, killing 13 people.

In northern Gaza’s Jabalia area, Israeli airstrikes also targeted several homes, compounding the humanitarian disaster.

“These attacks highlight the desperate conditions here,” Khoudary said. “People are being killed simply for trying to get food. Only a handful of aid trucks enter Gaza each day, and people are so desperate, they’re willing to risk their lives for what little aid arrives.”

In the past 24 hours alone, hospitals in Gaza have received 69 bodies and 221 injured people, including victims from the latest attacks.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, since the war began in October 2023, at least 55,706 Palestinians have been killed and 130,101 others injured.
