Israeli Airstrike Hits Gaza School, Killing at Least 30 in Resulting Fire
Israeli forces have bombed a school in Gaza City that had been serving as a shelter, igniting a fire and killing at least 30 Palestinians, including several children.
Meanwhile, Spain has called on the international community to consider imposing sanctions on Israel. This appeal came during a diplomatic gathering in Madrid, where foreign ministers from 20 European and Arab countries convened to advocate for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In a separate development, Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for a missile strike targeting Israel’s main Ben Gurion International Airport. The Israeli military reported that it intercepted the incoming projectile.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza has resulted in at least 53,939 deaths and 122,797 injuries among Palestinians. The Government Media Office later revised the death toll to over 61,700, citing that thousands of individuals remain buried under the rubble and are presumed dead.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks in Israel left an estimated 1,139 people dead and more than 200 taken hostage.
