 Israeli strikes on civilian shelters in Gaza leave 45 dead

At least 45 people were killed and more than 100 injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting civilian shelters in Gaza on Wednesday, according to medical sources .The casualties continue to rise following a series of overnight and early morning attacks across the enclave.

Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, claimed that members of the U.S. Republican Party support his firm stance on bombing what he described as "food and aid depots" in Gaza.

Since the beginning of the war 18 months ago, the Palestinian Health Ministry has reported 51,305 confirmed deaths and 117,096 injuries in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Government Media Office has revised the total death toll to over 61,700, stating that thousands more remain missing under rubble and are presumed dead.

In comparison, the Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, resulted in the deaths of at least 1,139 people, with over 200 individuals taken captive.
