Israel intensifies strikes on Gaza as UN warns of ‘imminent full-scale famine'
Israeli forces continued their bombardment of Gaza on Saturday, killing at least 40 Palestinians, as aid agencies warned of “full-scale famine conditions” amid Israel’s ongoing blockade.
Meanwhile, Hamas announced it has submitted its "vision for a comprehensive agreement" aimed at achieving a ceasefire, prisoner exchange, and reconstruction to mediators in Cairo.
The United States maintained its offensive against Yemen’s Houthis, launching airstrikes on several neighborhoods in Sanaa and reportedly wounding at least eight people.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza 18 months ago, at least 51,495 Palestinians have been confirmed killed and 117,524 wounded. The Gaza Government Media Office has updated the death toll to over 61,700, noting that thousands of people believed to be trapped under rubble are presumed dead.
In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, with more than 200 others taken captive.
